Singapore Departure & port-visit guide

Singapore

Gardens, a museum, a food-centre break.

Choose outdoor Gardens by the Bay, an Asian Civilisations Museum visit or a Chinatown food and browsing break. Your cruise may use Marina Bay Cruise Centre or Singapore Cruise Centre at HarbourFront: confirm the assigned terminal and its current passenger entrance before arranging a ride. On embarkation day, keep the line’s check-in window and final boarding deadline clear; save a longer city visit for another day if needed.

Explore on your own

Choose a plan for the stops, food, walking and extra costs. Before sailing, arrange luggage storage and follow your cruise line’s check-in window and final boarding deadline. On a port call, use the ship’s all-aboard time to set your return.

Start with the time you actually have

On embarkation day, work back from your cruise line’s check-in window instead. Count from when you can get off the ship, or ashore by tender, to the all-aboard time, using ship time. Times on these plans are our estimates, with time to spare; they cannot promise a plan fits your sailing.

Short plans need up to 4 hours in total, medium up to 6, long more than 6. A plan with a connection still to confirm has no total.

Put your day on the map

Select a terminal or place to see its location and open directions.

Open Gardens by the Bay, Bay South in Google Maps

Choose a place for its location, then open Google Maps for directions. Confirm the terminal on your cruise documents; a map result does not establish your ship’s berth or an accessible route.

Local know-how

Worth knowing before you walk off

Checked Oct 3, 2026. Confirm fares and hours locally before paying.

Garden maintenance

Check the attraction, not just the garden opening

Gardens by the Bay lists separate maintenance dates for Flower Dome, Cloud Forest and the elevated attractions. Outdoor garden opening does not establish admission to a conservatory or the skyway.

Getting around

Use current HarbourFront access directions

The operator’s current terminal page gives an MRT Exit B route via a covered walkway and HarbourFront Tower 1. Confirm mobility needs and follow current signage; an older station-to-terminal route is not an assessed connection for this visit.

Singapore Cruise Centre: current HarbourFront terminal access

Use the station for the assigned cruise terminal

LTA identifies Marina South Pier station on the North-South Line as serving Marina Bay Cruise Centre. This is a different starting point from HarbourFront’s Singapore Cruise Centre. Confirm your sailing’s terminal first, then the actual station exit and final passenger entrance. The nearby ferry pier is a separate boarding facility, and no complete walking time or fare is established here.

Check overseas card settings and daily charges

SimplyGo accepts supported foreign-issued contactless bank cards on Singapore’s public transport. Enable overseas use with your bank and tap in and out with the same physical card or mobile-wallet method. Its FAQ lists an additional SGD 0.60 per day of use for foreign-issued Mastercard or Visa cards, checked October 6, 2026; your bank may impose other charges. Confirm current fees and accepted cards. These payment rules do not include private cruise shuttles.

Make room for lunch

Choose an open stall and check the full bill

Chinatown has food-centre and restaurant choices. Our suggestion: check the menu, ingredients, dietary needs, payment and waiting time directly, then keep the return connection visible. No stall-specific assessment or current meal price is researched here.

Option 2

Take a planned tour

Prefer an organized outing in Singapore? Browse tours with Viator, then check the exact meeting point, departure, inclusions and cancellation terms before booking.

Tour duration is only part of your time ashore. Allow for getting to the meeting point, early check-in, any transfers outside the tour and your return reserve. Confirm the ship’s clock, all-aboard time and any earlier last tender. These results have not been checked against your sailing.

First steps ashore

Confirm which Singapore cruise terminal you need

Ships dock at the assigned Marina Bay Cruise Centre or Singapore Cruise Centre, HarbourFront. Use your line’s terminal and current passenger entrance, including the updated HarbourFront access directions.

Your ship confirms the arrival pier and any tender arrangements for your sailing.

Before you go ashore

How long is the ship in port, and when is all-aboard?

Port hours vary by ship and date in Singapore. Check your sailing itinerary for scheduled arrival and departure, then the onboard app or daily notice for all-aboard, ship time and any last-tender deadline. Subtract clearance, both transfers and a return buffer before choosing an outing. Scheduled arrival is not your guaranteed time ashore.

What should I take ashore?

Take your ship card or wearable, the identification specified in the ship’s port briefing, any tour ticket and a way to pay. Save your terminal name, return deadline and ship’s emergency contact offline. Ask whether your original passport is required for this visit; do not assume a phone photo replaces required identification. Singapore dollars (SGD). Confirm payment methods, taxes, any service charges and the complete transport or meal bill directly. No current exchange rate or whole-day budget is established here.

How do I get off and back on the ship?

Wait for the ship’s announcement that passengers may go ashore. Follow its gangway, shuttle or tender instructions and any ticketing order. Keep your ship identification ready when leaving and returning. Allow for terminal access checks, queues and security screening before reboarding; tender passengers also need to meet the last return boat.

What should I know about safety around the port?

UK FCDO guidance advises protecting passports and belongings and warns about scams. Vapes and e-cigarettes are banned in Singapore, including bringing them in for personal use. Check current local rules and follow official instructions; no terminal-to-sight walking route has been assessed here.

Starting or ending your cruise here

For embarkation, use your cruise line’s terminal and check-in instructions. After the cruise, allow for disembarkation, baggage collection and the airport transfer before airline check-in.

Where can I park, and what does it cost?

Cruise-date permission and prices need checking. HarbourFront’s operator encourages public transport because parking is limited. Long-stay permission, full cruise-date prices and the connection to your assigned terminal remain unverified here.

Confirm your airport arrival terminal and ride to the assigned cruise entrance; no current airport-to-port journey time or fare is verified here.
