Long Beach (Los Angeles)

Harbor views, Pacific exhibits, and the historic Queen Mary.

Long Beach offers a harbor-side browse, Pacific aquarium exhibits and the preserved Queen Mary. Choose one focus and keep its visitor entrance separate from cruise check-in. Despite the catalog’s Los Angeles label, this is the Long Beach terminal beside the Queen Mary, not the San Pedro cruise terminal.

Option 1

Explore on your own

Choose a plan for the stops, food, walking and extra costs. Before sailing, arrange luggage storage and follow your cruise line’s check-in window and final boarding deadline. On a port call, use the ship’s all-aboard time to set your return.

Start with the time you actually have

On embarkation day, work back from your cruise line’s check-in window instead. Count from when you can get off the ship, or ashore by tender, to the all-aboard time, using ship time. Times on these plans are our estimates, with time to spare; they cannot promise a plan fits your sailing.

Short plans need up to 4 hours in total, medium up to 6, long more than 6. A plan with a connection still to confirm has no total.

Put your day on the map

Select a terminal or place to see its location and open directions.

Open Shoreline Village in Google Maps

Choose a place for its location, then open Google Maps for directions. Confirm the terminal on your cruise documents; a map result does not establish your ship’s berth or an accessible route.

Getting around

Airport pickup

Use the airport on your flight booking. LGB lists a taxi stand outside the terminal by Parking Structure A. LAX’s general taxi and ride-app pickup option is LAX-it beside Terminal 1, reached on foot or by its shuttle; some services have other pickup instructions. Confirm the current area for your booked service, the complete fare and the Long Beach cruise entrance. No airport-to-ship duration is established.

Make room for lunch

A harbor-side meal

Shoreline Village offers seafood, Mexican food, casual meals and sweet treats. Our suggestion: choose one nearby stop, check ingredients and the complete bill, and reduce waiting rather than the ship-return allowance.

What costs extra?

Published information checked Oct 5, 2026. Confirm current prices before paying.

Transport

Price both directions

Confirm pickup, the complete fare and any waiting. City or attraction transport is not automatically a cruise-terminal connection.

Entry and purchases

Keep optional costs separate

Check dated admission, optional experiences, meals and purchases. No complete outing price is established.

Option 2

Take a planned tour

Prefer an organized outing in Long Beach (Los Angeles)? Browse tours with Viator, then check the exact meeting point, departure, inclusions and cancellation terms before booking.

Tour duration is only part of your time ashore. Allow for getting to the meeting point, early check-in, any transfers outside the tour and your return reserve. Confirm the ship’s clock, all-aboard time and any earlier last tender. These results have not been checked against your sailing.

Find tours for your port visit

Search up to one year ahead. Schedules are indicative; confirm available departure times and your group’s final price on Viator.

Can I walk from the ship?

First steps ashore

Confirm the cruise entrance before travelling

Carnival lists Long Beach Cruise Terminal at the Queen Mary, 231 Windsor Way. It is separate from the Port of Los Angeles cruise terminal in San Pedro. Give your driver the actual cruise entrance, not just “Los Angeles,” the Queen Mary hotel or an attraction entrance.

Your ship confirms the arrival pier and any tender arrangements for your sailing.

Before you go ashore

How long is the ship in port, and when is all-aboard?

Port hours vary by ship and date in Long Beach. Check your sailing itinerary for scheduled arrival and departure, then the onboard app or daily notice for all-aboard, ship time and any last-tender deadline. Subtract clearance, both transfers and a return buffer before choosing an outing. Scheduled arrival is not your guaranteed time ashore.

What should I take ashore?

Take your ship card or wearable, the identification specified in the ship’s port briefing, any tour ticket and a way to pay. Save your terminal name, return deadline and ship’s emergency contact offline. Ask whether your original passport is required for this visit; do not assume a phone photo replaces required identification. U.S. dollars (USD). Check the complete bill and price each connection, admission and food stop separately. No whole-day budget is established.

How do I get off and back on the ship?

Wait for the ship’s announcement that passengers may go ashore. Follow its gangway, shuttle or tender instructions and any ticketing order. Keep your ship identification ready when leaving and returning. Allow for terminal access checks, queues and security screening before reboarding; tender passengers also need to meet the last return boat.

Starting or ending your cruise here

For embarkation, use your cruise line’s terminal and check-in instructions. After the cruise, allow for disembarkation, baggage collection and the airport transfer before airline check-in.

Where can I park, and what does it cost?

Carnival warns that terminal parking is limited and that certain sailings require offsite parking. Read your sailing emails before choosing a facility, then confirm the assigned lot, shuttle, full-stay charge and vehicle terms. Queen Mary hotel/attraction parking and Aquarium parking are separate products; neither is presented as cruise parking. A current complete cruise-parking price remains unverified.

What time should I arrive for embarkation?

How does luggage drop-off work?

Drop luggage with the active cruise porter operation using your ship’s correct tags, once bags are being accepted for your sailing. Carnival describes curbside porters and printed luggage tags; confirm the local handover point and timing in your joining instructions. Keep travel documents with you. Queen Mary hotel check-in and attraction admission are separate operations, not cruise baggage storage. Attach your cruise luggage tags before handover. Keep travel documents, medication and valuables in your carry-on. Baggage drop-off is not a promise of early boarding or all-day luggage storage.

Three local choices

Starting your cruise

The passenger deadline comes first

Our suggestion: use the cruise line’s arrival window and final check-in deadline. Terminal opening, an attraction booking and the ship’s departure time do not establish when you may arrive.

Luggage handover

Drop luggage with the active cruise porter operation using your ship’s correct tags, once bags are being accepted for your sailing. Give longer outings a separate day

Beyond these choices

Our suggestion: Hollywood, Disneyland, Catalina Island and whale-watching outings need separate transport and any fixed departure checks. None is included in the waterfront, aquarium or Queen Mary plans.
